THE LADY KING OF WARTNABY (9th November 1927 - 1st January 2010)
She was born Hon. Isabel Cynthia Monckton-Arundell, 3rd and yst daughter of the 8th Viscount Galway (1882-1943). Her brother was the 9th Viscount Galway (1929-1971) who married the surviving child of the 7th Earl of Ilchester (descended from the politician Henry Fox's brother), who left his estate to his daughter Hon Charlotte Monckton-Arundell (b. 1955)
Lord and Lady King of Wartnaby met while out hunting. She married Lord King of Wartnaby (29 August 1917 - 12 July 2005) in 1970, the year after the death of his first wife Lorna Sykes (md 1941, she died 1969), by whom he had four children, three sons and one daughter. The second marriage lasted 35 years but produced no issue. He was made a Life Peer in 1983 by Margaret Thatcher.
The Service of Thanksgiving is taking place on Wednesday 10th February 2010 at Southwell Minister, Nottinghamshire with over 400 attendees including members of the Royal Family and Lord Lieutenant. Tribute by The Hon. James Ogilvy.
